Herold Patrick Alexis is an American painter born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1968. His artistic foundation was shaped in the early 1980s, discovering his passion for painting through the vibrant world of New York graffiti art.

Through his oil paintings, Alexis explores how racial dynamics are weaponized to cause spiritual, cultural, moral, and political division. His work confronts the uncomfortable reality that racial discord is often exploited for financial and political gain under the guise of justice and equality. This deliberate division fosters a collective sense of demoralization across the nation, driven by figures both past and present, white as well as black, including some historically revered icons.

While Alexis views this subject matter as a heavy burden, he believes it is a necessary confrontation. He recognizes that his raw, political themes may alienate certain viewers. However, he finds solace in providing a voice for those who feel overlooked. Navigating these conversations honestly is an agonizing balance for Alexis, who strives to address race openly without validating bigoted rhetoric or facing accusations of self-hatred. Ultimately, his goal is not to force a single viewpoint, but to spark essential dialogue through his art.
