JAPANESE TEXT

Lawrence Berzon is one of the rare artists who has successfully merged painting and sculpture. The painting is not a skin that the sculpture wears but it integrates the two and three dimensions of the work.

The artist sculpts in clay and casts in resin. The painting, which is in oils, on flat areas, is on birch wood. These sculpture / paintings chronicle the passing of time and dramatic human situations.
